These terms are between you (the purchaser and user of Klartion) and David Alves, an independent software developer based in Portugal ("we", "us", "our"). You can contact us at support@david-alves.com.
Klartion is a self-hosted application that connects to your bank via Enable Banking's open banking API and writes your transactions to a Notion database you own. It runs on your own hardware. Your data never passes through our servers.
Klartion is not a financial service, a bank, or a payment provider. It is a software tool that reads and organises data you already have access to.
Klartion's source code is released under the MIT licence with the Commons Clause. This means:
Each licence key allows activation on up to 2 machines. Keys are personal and non-transferable. A valid licence key is required to use Klartion — the application validates your key with Lemon Squeezy's licence API on activation and periodically during use.
If you need to move your installation to a new machine, you can deactivate your current instance from within the application before reinstalling.
Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. They handle all payment processing, VAT, and invoicing. Their terms of service apply to the purchase transaction.
Because Klartion is a software product delivered immediately upon purchase, we do not offer refunds after your licence key has been activated. If you experience a technical issue that prevents you from using the product, contact us at support@david-alves.com and we will work to resolve it.
Klartion relies on third-party services that are outside our control:
We are not responsible for outages, changes, or decisions made by these third parties that affect Klartion's functionality.
You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of data written to your Notion database. Klartion should not be used as your sole source of financial records.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, David Alves shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Klartion, including but not limited to loss of data, missed transactions, financial loss, or business interruption.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of Klartion shall not exceed the amount you paid for your licence key.
You agree to use Klartion only for lawful purposes and only to access bank accounts and Notion databases that you own or have explicit permission to access. You must not attempt to circumvent licence validation or use a single licence key on more machines than permitted.
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Klartion after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Portugal, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have under the laws of your country of residence.
